A Little About Me
I believe that meaningful change begins when we feel truly seen, heard, and understood. With over 20 years of experience as a Marriage and Family Therapist, I've had the privilege of walking alongside individuals, couples, and families as they navigate some of life's most challenging and transformative moments.
My approach to therapy is warm, compassionate, and honest. I believe we all have patterns in the way we think, feel, communicate, and connect with others. Sometimes those patterns help us, and sometimes they keep us stuck in places we no longer want to be. My role is to help you recognize those patterns, understand where they come from, and discover healthier ways of moving forward.
I don't believe in a one-size-fits-all approach to therapy. Your experiences, relationships, cultural background, and personal history make you who you are. I take the time to understand your story, what matters to you, and what you hope to change. Together, we create a space where you can explore difficult emotions, challenge old beliefs, and develop the confidence to make meaningful changes in your life.
I am compassionate, but I am also direct. I won't simply tell you what you want to hear. When I notice something that may be standing in the way of your growth, I'll gently bring it to your attention. I believe that insight is important, but real transformation happens when we begin putting that insight into practice.
When working with couples, my goal is not to determine who is right or wrong or who is to blame. Instead, I help both partners feel heard, understand one another's emotional needs, and recognize the patterns that create distance between them. I encourage each person to take responsibility for their part while learning how to communicate, reconnect, and move forward together.
Above all, I want therapy to feel like a place where you can be yourself, without judgment or the pressure to have everything figured out.
You don't have to have all the answers before coming to therapy. Sometimes, the most meaningful changes begin with simply being willing to look at things differently.
Collaborative
You know your life better than I do. I bring training and a second set of eyes. We decide on the direction together.
Individualized
Sessions follow what you bring that week and what we've learned so far, rather than a fixed program.
Direct
Kind doesn't mean vague. I'll name patterns as I see them and invite you to tell me when I've got it wrong.
Who I See
Couples ready for honest feedback, LGBTQ+ adults, young adults finding their way in dating, parents, and people who are newly single.
This site focuses on adults and couples; ask the practice about fit. Sessions are by telehealth for clients located in California. In-person availability and location should be confirmed with the practice before scheduling.
Read the Practical QuestionsWhat We Look For
Beyond the problem that brought you in.
- 01
Emotional needs
Underneath an immediate challenge there is usually a need that hasn't been met or said out loud. We try to name it.
- 02
Strengths
You already have ways of coping and caring that work. We notice those too, not only what feels broken.
- 03
Everyday use
Insight matters most when it shows up in how you communicate, the choices you make, and how you relate to the people close to you.
