An honest conversation without judgment
Discuss substance use, its place in your life, and the support that may fit your circumstances.
A Concern You Can Put Into Words
You may be questioning the role of substance use in your life, or trying to understand its effect on a relationship. You might have had conversations about it before and felt judged or misunderstood. My clinical background includes working with individuals and families affected by substance use. I approach these conversations with compassion and a willingness to look closely at what is happening.
Understanding the Context
I want to understand the person as well as the concern. That includes relationships, stress, emotional experiences, and the responses you have relied on when life feels difficult. We can discuss what you notice before and after substance use and what you want help understanding. This is a conversation about your experience, not a judgment about your character.
Recovery Has More Than One Part
SAMHSA describes recovery in terms of health, self-direction, and a person's broader life. Relationships and everyday responsibilities can be part of that picture. Your needs may involve more than one kind of support. We would need to discuss your circumstances and the appropriate level of care before deciding whether work with my practice is a suitable part of it.

Relationships and Trust
Substance use can become a difficult subject between partners or relatives. You may want help talking about concerns, understanding resentment, or identifying your own boundaries. A family member's perspective matters, but it does not allow us to diagnose an absent person. In therapy, we can focus on your experience and the relationship questions that you are trying to address.
Room for Direct Feedback
Compassion does not mean avoiding uncomfortable questions. My style includes honest feedback and collaboration. We may discuss a pattern you have noticed, the effect of a choice, or a difference between what you want and what is happening. You remain part of the conversation about its meaning. I do not promise a fixed outcome or a standard timetable for change.
Making the Scope Clear
This website is not offering detoxification, medical withdrawal management, or emergency treatment. A psychotherapy inquiry cannot establish whether those services are needed. The appropriate level of care must be assessed by a qualified professional. Before any appointment, ask about the support this practice can provide and any needs that require a different provider or service.

Ask About Appropriate Support
A brief question about the practice, availability, or fees is enough. The contact page outlines how to get started. Please do not include substance-use histories or urgent medical details. Inquiries are not monitored as an emergency service. We can clarify whether a conversation with me is appropriate and what information is needed before scheduling. Individual therapy offers more context about my general approach.
