Coaching

Dr. Nazanin Fathi, Ed.D., LMFT

Focused support, outside of therapy.

Coaching is a separate, non-clinical service for people who want practical, goal-centered conversations rather than therapy.

Coaching is not psychotherapy or counseling. It does not include assessment, diagnosis or treatment of any mental health condition, and it is not a substitute for therapy. If you are looking for treatment, individual or couples therapy is the right service.

Three areas of coaching.

  1. 01

    Parenting and family

Thinking through routines, expectations and how you want to show up as a parent, including how two parents can get on the same page.

  2. 02

    Personal growth and transitions

Setting direction during a change, clarifying priorities, and building the habits that move you toward them.

  3. 03

    Communication

Preparing for a difficult conversation, giving and receiving feedback, and saying what you mean more clearly.

How coaching differs from therapy

Therapy can look at history, emotional patterns and mental health concerns. Coaching stays with present goals and next steps. Dr. Fathi will talk with you about which is a better fit, and may recommend therapy if coaching isn't the right service for what you're facing.

Coaching results depend on many factors, and no particular outcome is promised.

The Three Coaching Services

Support for your next step.

  1. 01

    Parenting and Family Coaching

Goal-focused conversations about your role as a parent and how your family works together day to day.

  2. 02

Personal Growth and Life Transition Coaching

Goal-focused support for clarifying direction and next steps during a period of personal growth or change.

  3. 03

    Relationship and Communication Coaching

Goal-focused work on how you communicate and connect in your relationships.

Finding the right fit

Coaching remains separate from therapy. Whether coaching fits your situation, and where you are located, is something to discuss directly with the practice before you begin.
