Time that is only about you.

Individual therapy for adults who are tired of the same inner argument.

Individual Therapy

You may recognize yourself here.

Individual therapy for adults who are tired of the same inner argument, in English or Farsi, by telehealth across California.

Many people in individual therapy are working on a relationship, even when their partner isn't in the room. That's welcome here. The focus stays on what you can understand and change in yourself.

Common Reasons to Come In

What you might be carrying.

Self-worth
Measuring yourself against others, or feeling you are only as good as what you do for people.
Anxiety
Racing thoughts before a conversation, replaying it afterward, trouble switching off.
Dating
For young adults especially: figuring out what you want, reading mixed signals, and choosing well.
Being newly single
Rebuilding a routine and a sense of self after a relationship ends.
Parenting
The strain of raising children and how it shows up in you and your relationships.
Identity
Support for LGBTQ+ adults, including coming out, family reactions and relationships.

The Approach

Understanding your own part is not the same as taking all the blame.

Individual sessions are collaborative. Dr. Fathi will ask about your history and your current relationships, and help you notice the beliefs and habits that shape how you react. You set the goals, and you can change them.

Also Common

Overthinking, stress, and feeling alone.

Some people come in because their mind won't settle: overthinking decisions, carrying ongoing stress, or feeling anxious without a clear reason. Others feel lonely, even when they're surrounded by people.

People-pleasing often runs through all of this. Saying yes to keep things smooth can leave you unsure what you actually want, and questions of self-worth and identity tend to surface along the way.

How the Work Unfolds

From understanding to new choices.

  1. 01

    Past and present patterns

Your history, family experiences and cultural background shape how you respond today. Together you look at where your reactions come from.

  2. 02

    Your strengths

Therapy also notices what is already working: the ways you cope, care for others and keep going.

  3. 03

    Healthier responses

With that understanding, you can explore different ways to respond in daily life. Progress looks different for everyone, and no particular result is guaranteed.
